Not a great campground for anyone looking to have fun at night, including well behaved, if not slightly loud adults. They are very focused on young children, but their marketing materials do not reflect that at all, nor did their staff when I called and informed them that I would be traveling with five 16-21 year olds. After 10:30 pm (whether there were complaints of noise or not) the owners drive around in a golf cart, speaking to anyone they could hear over the sound of their engine. Instead of putting us in the corner of the campground where we wouldn’t bother anyone, they put us smack in the middle of everything. The site was all dirt and rocks with hardly a scrap of grass, and was on an incline. The fire pit was on the edge of the site in the least level spot which made it impossible for everyone in our party to sit around the fire. The kids bought glow sticks and only about half of them worked. The store was willing to exchange a few, but then said no more (even though they never worked). I had three conversations with the campground staff about my adult child arriving late on the night of my arrival and provided information about her car and obtaining a tag to hang on the mirror. However, a full day after her arrival, they told my youngest child that we were breaking rules by having a second car at our campsite and it needed to be moved immediately (even though they never told me!). The “lake” was pretty gross and tiny – full of lily pads and snapping turtles that were swimming right near the very small beach area. Despite being in a picturesque area of New Hampshire, the “nature trail” on site was extremely short. We had to leave the campground in order to do any hiking. They advertise “make your own sundae” night, but they fail to mention that they charge $5 a person. In short, lots of unnecessary rules and poor selection of typical outdoor activities one would expect in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

      Hi Laura ~

You were on Site 87 and that site because the campground was basically full but you did not come to the office and ask if any other sites were available. We had to speak to you and your “kids” because we received complaints of the foul language. In our guidelines that you received via email and when you checked in, it is stated that quiet hour begins @ 10:30pm. It is also stated that only one vehicle is allowed per site but you can park down in the overflow area. The lake is 30 acres and serine and beautiful. The “Make Your Own Sundae” is $3.50 for an extra large scoop (all toppings included) and $4.00 for two extra large scoops. I personally exchanged any non-working glow stick and did not refuse anyone. I feel that you should read all guidelines at any campground before you decide to stay there in the future.
